“Dr. Wagshul is one of the best doctors that I know, He found out what is wrong with me and he has properly treated me, unlike other doctors. The best thing gave was HOPE. He acts like you're the only patient in the office and spends quality time with you.”

What's the Difference Between Chronic and Acute Illness?
In General Terms
-
Acute illnesses develop suddenly and last a short time.
-
Chronic conditions come on slowly and may worsen over an extended period.
What are the Causes?
-
A virus or an infection often causes acute conditions but can also be caused by an injury.
-
Chronic conditions are often caused by unhealthy behaviors that increase the risk of disease—poor nutrition, inadequate physical activity, overuse of alcohol, or smoking.
What are the Symptoms, and How Do You Treat Acute and Chronic Conditions?
-
Acute diseases come on rapidly and are accompanied by distinct symptoms that require urgent or short-term care and get better once they are treated. Sometimes, an acute illness, such as the common cold, will disappear independently. Most people with acute illnesses will soon recover. If hospitalized for an acute illness, you’ll likely be eager to return to the comfort and familiarity of home after your condition improves.
-
Chronic conditions examples are arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and chronic kidney disease. Unlike acute conditions, chronic health conditions can only be controlled. Living with chronic illness or managing the symptoms of a chronic condition can often be done by creating a health care plan in partnership with your physician.
